Everything was great...

Except the gameplay. Just racing the clock really didn't do it for me. Even the original 'Snake' game had more of a challenge than that. If you made gaining segments add to the challenge somehow, I think that'd be a start. As it was, I was just moving my mouse around the screen. It looked good, though, and it played well.

EglStrk responds:

I'm glad you thought it played well and looked good. I thought it might lack a little depth myself. I'll keep that in mind for my next game.

The game needs nothing more.

It's exactly what you intended it to be, and I think a series is in order. A simple, stylish change that delivers everything it promises.

MaxManning responds:

Glad you enjoyed it so much.

I definitely think there will be a followup.

What the fuck?

What's up with ninjas these days? I thought the music was great, and the gameplay was masterful in its simplicity. Great difficulty progressions, too. The "Evaluation Version- Not for Redistribution" watermark kind of made me sad, though- it's not stolen, is it?

CrazyChihuahua responds:

Nah, definitely not stolen, it was just an oversight, and either myself or Shinki (most likely both) are too lazy/busy/forgetful to remove it at this point.

Glad you enjoyed it though.

Good game

It reminds me of the newer vertical scrolling shoot-em-ups where there are just so many bullets on the screen, you feel like it's just blind luck that's keeping you from dying. But there's a very low-level instinctive skill involved in ultra-fast paced games like this, and it's difficult to master, from a game design perspective. I like what you've got here.

Kajenx responds:

Thanks! Try reversing directions really quick when you're swarmed. They don't turn as quickly as you can, so that breaks them up. Then you can isolate and destroy.

Good shit.

This tutorial was simple as hell, but it's been a long time coming. NG is FILLED with retarded "how to make a button" tutorials- it's about time we got something a little more advanced, or at least more interesting. If you went a little more in-depth with your coverage (and made it a little prettier), you're looking at a high 3, maybe more.

squirrel45 responds:

right now im making another one that will have much more advanced stuff

Excellent

The graphics, gameplay, and style were all awesome. Don't sweat the negative feedback about the ads, either- gotta pay the bills while you're making the games. The only thing that would make this better is some kind of level system that rewarded players and advanced the game for getting higher distances.

warm-chang responds:

Thanks, we're glad you like it. Our next game will be out in mid-September, it's the start of a series of adventure games. Hopefully you'll enjoy that as much.

The final result didn't really look cool.

The only thing that was good about this movie was seeing that crazy version of flash you've got there. What was that?

digitalk responds:

its flash pro 8

So sick of mouse mazes.

Did anyone ask for a sequel? If they did, they should be shot. I admire your persistence, but you should take that energy and invest it in learning to do something a little more advanced. Mouse mazes are WHACK. The whole genre deserves an automatic blam. There's a reason that there's no Mouse maze collection- it's because they're boring as all hell. I'd seriously rather watch paint dry. You seem like an intelligent guy- do something new or just stop all together. The mouse maze thing is TIRED. Sorry for all the hate, but it's getting ridiculous.

andryeb responds:

All the flash here you give bad reviews. I HATE YOU. DIE IN A FIRE.

And your'e gay.

GAYGAYGAY!

If you dont like it, why did you review? just leave it alone if you hate it.

>:(

Recommendation?

The Flash Tutorials collection already has a preloader tutorial. If you taught prospective authors how to avoid delays when using library items that are exported to the first frame, I'd be impressed. And if you don't know how to do that, maybe you should learn some more about Flash for yourself before you try to teach other people about it.

Eclipsxcom responds:

Well...geez...you don't have to go all technical up my ass. I said I would APPRECIATE it. And there's some things that are two of the same thing in the Flash Tutorials area...
